Adjoining the eastern edges of the Peak District is a beautiful swathe of land that rarely receives visitors. The terrain is a delicious blend of hills, forests, open moorland and pasture. There are also traces of industrial heritage in the form of redeveloped railway and canal networks. Our races get you into the heart of this landscape and our friendly marshals will support you in your endeavours. The events are low key (100 runners limit), low impact (environmentally conscious) and highly memorable.
Spire Ultra (14.5.22)
Our first event which made its debut in 2017. At 34 miles it is forgiving enough for a first time ultra runner yet it’s terrain offers plenty of challenge for veterans. The trail relay option also allows teams of three the chance to tackle the course. The Spire Ultra also raises a healthy amount for a local charity each year.
The HALO (19.3.22)
Start your Summer with a HALO. Held on the Saturday closest to Summer Equinox the HALO is a 6 hour or 12 hour endurance run over a 4 mile lapped course. This is not as easy as it sounds; the climb, the ground conditions and the weather (it’s quite exposed at High Ashes Rural Project) will gnaw at your endurance. That said it offers plenty of pleasant distractions and of course you are never more than a lap away for a refuel. The HALO helps raise funds for HARP.
31 miles of smiles in a figure of 8 circumnavigation of the Amber Valley (the hidden gem of Derbyshire). Expect a punchy series of climbs to start, expansive vistas, immersive forests and pristine villages. This is an annual event run with support from HARP.
