Run : Walk : Fast-pack
Anyone who has experienced the edgy exhilaration of moving through new terrain at night will be familiar with the comfort offered by the arrival of first light – that magical moment when the Eastern horizon starts to illuminate with the promise of a new day.
It is with this in mind that First Light Active brings you training, experiences and events. Accessing the outdoors is more necessary in this digital age. A chance to reconnect with the natural environment and to feel truly human again. First Light Active aims to help people feel comfortable in moving independently through our wonderful countryside, in all weathers, at all times.

What People Say
A great big thank you to Clare and Jamie for such a brilliant event!!
Loved it all, the route is beautiful, the support the best, the marshals amazing, the check points very well stocked. Couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you, thank you, thank you all, race directors, marshals and support crew, and not forgetting my fellow runners. Claire Sheldon. Spire Ultra 2018
I attended last year’s inaugural navigation course run by Jamie at First Light Active. To say I am a novice is an understatement! I had a compass but had no idea what to do with it! After 4 or so hours of theory and then practice on the course around the footpaths and fields nearby, I can honestly say I was so enthused that I went out directly and bought my first OS map of the local area.
Jamie made the subject interesting and he tailor made the course to the requirements of the attendees .
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone . Great value for money! Ann Barker. Navigation Foundation July 2019
